A paper co-authored by Distinguished University Professor Alex Zelikovsky has been selected by Nature Communications for a list of 50 best papers recently published in the area of microbiology and infectious diseases. This list, known as Editors’ Highlights, includes articles recently published in Nature Communications that the journal’s editors believe are particularly interesting or important. Dr. Zelikovsky’s paper is currently ranked third on the microbiology and infectious diseases list.
The paper, titled “Early Detection of Emerging Viral Variants Through Analysis of Community Structure of Coordinated Substitution Networks,” was co-authored by Fatemeh Mohebbi and Serghei Mangul (both of the University of Southern California), Gerardo Chowell (GSU School of Public Health), and Pavel Skums (University of Connecticut).
Nature Communications is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Nature Portfolio since 2010. It is considered to be one of the top open-access journals in the natural sciences field.
