Welcome to the employment opportunities page of the Department of Computer Science. Our department offers programs leading to the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in computer science and data science. Our Ph.D. program is nationally competitive and ranked among the best in the Southeast, according to National Research Council data. The department’s faculty attracts substantial funding from many federal agencies, including seven NSF CAREER Awards.

Assistant Professor: AI, NLP, and Data Science (Multiple Positions)
The Department of Computer Science at Georgia State University (GSU) is seeking to fill multiple tenure-track Assistant Professor positions by the Fall of 2024. The Computer Science Department offers programs leading to the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Data Science. As the Department is expanding its research profile, candidates with research interests and expertise in areas of Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, and Data Science, including Text Mining, Intelligent Web Searches, Explainable AI, and Smart Devices are encouraged to apply.
Applicants are expected to have: 1) Ph.D. in computer science or closely related field, 2) ability to establish and maintain a successful research program, 3) ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and 4) ability to work in multidisciplinary settings. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated experience with Large Language Models, Text Mining Applications, and Intelligent Search Engines. Lecturer (Two Positions)
The Department of Computer Science at Georgia State University is seeking to fill two Lecturer positions by the Fall of 2024. The expected teaching load is 24 hours per academic year.
Position 1: The position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Systems. Other duties include service to the Department, College, University, or profession and outreach activities. Candidates with teaching expertise and interest in the areas of Computer Organization, Systems Programming, Operating Systems, and Programming Language Systems are encouraged to apply. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate courses and/or laboratory sessions and coordination of student activities.
