GRADUATE PROGRAMS
Since its creation in 2001, the Ph.D. program in computer science has produced more than 190 graduates.
Graduate Study
Computer Science faculty are actively engaged in a wide variety of research endeavors. Research efforts are concentrated in artificial intelligence and neural nets, bioinformatics, databases, digital image and signal processing, graphics and visualization, networks, parallel and distributed computing, programming languages, simulation and modeling and software engineering.
M.S. in Computer Science
The Computer Science M.S. program provides students with advanced training in the fundamental principles, processes and applications of information and computational technologies. This flexible program offers students a wide variety of research and technology areas of focus and allows students to find the right fit in industry or research.
M.S. in Data Science and Analytics
The M.S. in Data Science and Analytics offers a concentration in Big Data and Machine Learning. This three-semester program trains professionals in the rapidly growing field of data science, which lies at the intersection of computer science, statistical methodologies and a wide range of application domains.
Ph.D. in Computer Science
The Computer Science Ph.D. program focuses on cutting-edge advances in information technologies related to computer science, data science, cyber-security and bioinformatics. Our doctoral students have opportunities to obtain fellowships through the Molecular Basis of Disease program in computational biomedicine and the Brains and Behavior program in neuroscience.
Pursuing the Ph.D. program part-time is possible, so working professionals are encouraged to apply. Competitive financial aid is available for full-time Ph.D. students, along with tuition waivers.
