GRADUATE ADVISEMENT
Ph.D. students should consult with their dissertation advisor for all matters including course selection, qualifying examination, dissertation committee formation, and dissertation proposal defense and final dissertation defense. Incoming students who have not been assigned an advisor may get advice from the Director of Graduate Studies.
All new M.S. students who are assigned as graduate assistants (GTA, GRA, or GLA) must find a research advisor and get involved in a research project by the end of the first month of their first semester in the department (whether they select thesis or project options) .
M.S. students who have not chosen an advisor should see the Director of Graduate Studies for advisement. Students who have chosen a thesis or project advisor should get advice from that person.
