- Biography
Mario M. Kubek is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at GSU. He received his PhD from the University of Hagen, Germany, with a thesis focused on locally working agents to improve contextual search for web documents. He also habilitated there with a work on concepts for a fully integrated, decentralized web search engine based on library principles. He has over four years of industry experience in software development and research. Furthermore, he has authored more than 40 publications in conferences and scientific journals and written five books. His primary research interests include natural language information systems, information retrieval in large-scale distributed systems, and IT security. He is also intrigued by the potential applications of mobile and context-aware cooperative systems.
